CASTING CALL – Short Film “SACHA”

Hello, My name is Louise, I’m 25 years old. For my short film, I am currently looking for the following actors. All roles require native or highly fluent English speakers, ideally with the ability to understand and/or speak French (especially for the role of Sacha). Availability to begin rehearsals as soon as possible is required. Shooting Information Shooting dates: Late April – Early May (8 shooting days) Shooting locations: Brussels, and a few shooting days at the seaside (Belgium) Compensation This is an unpaid project; however, all expenses will be covered. Meals will be provided on set. For the shooting days at the seaside, transportation and accommodation will be fully covered. Synopsis This is the story of Sacha, a young woman trapped in a daily life she endures — a life that slowly begins to suffocate her. When something disrupts this routine, a crack appears. Surrounded by her family and friends she reconnects with after several years, she embarks on what becomes an almost initiatory journey — one that gradually leads her to feel again, to reconnect with her emotions and her body, and to put words to what once felt blurred and unnameable. SACHA Profile: Female, 24–26 years old 5’7”+ (170cm+) Long dark brown / black hair All skin tones welcome Sacha is introverted, observant, and restrained. At the beginning of the film, she appears stable, almost smooth on the surface. She moves through her daily life quietly, without disruption. Gradually, her emotions begin to rise and intensify. The role relies heavily on presence, gaze, silence, and breath. It requires precise physical work, as sometimes the eyes or posture will communicate more than dialogue. The ability to convey a great deal with minimal words is essential. This is the central role of the film. THÉO Profile: Male, 25–28 years old All skin tones welcome Théo is Sacha’s childhood friend. He is reassuring, warm, and often playful. He has a strong presence without imposing himself and represents a sense of comfort for Sacha. He observes, listens, and supports her through what she is going through, without judgment or pressure. The role requires a calm and sincere presence, able to exist in silence and communicate through subtle looks and reactions. MAX Profile: 17 years old (Ideally portrayed by an actor aged 18–19) Of African and European heritage 6’0”+ (180cm+) Athletic (basketball player) Max is Sacha’s younger brother. Calm and charismatic, both in his attitude and in the way he speaks, he carries a surprising maturity for his age. He is reassuring toward his older sister. There is a deep and complicit bond between them, rooted in love and clarity. He notices things about her without ever judging her. MARISSA Profile: Female, 45–50 years old Dark, curly hair All skin tones welcome Marissa is beautiful, charismatic, and elegant. A loving and protective mother, she tries to understand her daughter without always fully perceiving what is happening within her. ABIGAEL Profile: Female, 24–26 years old Mediterranean / Middle Eastern type Black hair 5’7”+ (170cm+) Abigael is one of Sacha’s childhood friends. A flight attendant, she is serious, elegant, structured, and discreet. Raised in a strict Catholic environment, she embodies stability and commitment. Grounded and composed, she represents a more defined and settled path in life. EMILY Female, 30–33 years old Emily is Sacha’s colleague. A bit of a “queen bee,” she is extroverted, energetic, and sometimes unintentionally overwhelming. She enjoys being surrounded, admired, and recognized. She genuinely appreciates Sacha, without realizing the discomfort her closeness may create.
